The Firebeats are widely considered to be the north east's premiere festivals, weddings, functions and events band (or so their clients tell us).
The band have played at dozens of weddings, corporate events, parties, festivals and other celebrations. Clients include premiership football teams and players, television and radio personalities, movie stars and production teams, major recording artists and other private individuals.
About the Band
Vocalist Daniel Hunt, nephew of late, great F1 racing driver and lesser known trumpet player, James, has his childhood roots in Cornwall but has adopted North Yorkshire as his home. He lives on a farm and can regularly be seen topless, tending his weeds like a Yorkshire Poldark.
Whilst spending most of his spare time practising guitar licks and sax solos in the band's studio at his home in the country, he can also be seen whizzing around Croft circuit in a fruitless attempt to emulate his uncle's success. Unfortunately for Dan, his driving skills are not up to his musical ones and the best he's managed is second place in an F1 invitational at Mallory Park in 2007.
He has played with members of Oasis, Sisters of Mercy, 999, Big Audio Dynamite and Chubby Brown but don't let that put you off!
So the final pieces of the band jigsaw are the solid percussion of Ricky Harty who provides an energetic and impressive beat.
Standing by are Jake and Alex. Don't be fooled by their youthful boy band looks either, these guys can play. Both are grade 8 drummers and Alex has ran his own drum school for three years (www.yarmdrumschool.com).
Ricky and further stand-in, Shai Kuvelker of Riptyde, give us a breadth and depth in percussion meaning we never miss a beat (or an event).
And last but by no means least, band manager, roadie, sound engineer and spiritual guru, Colonel Ted Parker, is the guy who makes sure that every event is smooth. He works with venues to ensure the band delivers everything that the clients need, when they want it and how loud!
Corporate event clients include Jaguar Landrover, Vitality, BOAC, Rolls Royce, BBC, ITV, Reiss, HSBC, Red Bull, WH Smith, Tesco, Budweiser UK, Smirnoff, Heineken, Middlesbrough Football Club, Durham County Cricket Club, to name a few.
Individual members have recorded and played with major artists and at festivals including Glastonbury, T in the Park, Leeds-Reading and Isle of Wight as well as dozens of local pubs, clubs and small events like Yarm Gala, York Raceway, Tour de Yorkshire and Stokelsey Fair.
The band also support a number of different local and international charities including North East Air Ambulance, Cardiac Risk in the Young (Cry), Zoe's Place, Cancer Research and Bridge to Aid. Plus, for every wedding couple, a dedicated tree is planted through the Woodland Trust. CLICK HERE for more.
With a range of styles and hit music from across the decades, there really is something for everyone - from current chart hits to good old fashioned rock n roll and with pretty much everything in between including 80's synthpop, 70's glam, ska, indie, britpop, country, motown, ballads, reggae, pop and rock.
The band can form an acoustic duo/trio or full band to provide a smoother set of mood music before the main event. Tracks include pop, rock, country, swing, motown and dance, but delivered in a softer style. To hear examples, go to the "Media" page HERE>>
And there's more! - The band will also add a full DJ set with all PA, lighting and backing required led by Dan's funky alter-ego, Lord Flash Heart.

With wide-ranging of experience playing weddings, parties, festivals, events, club and pub nights and just about every type of music out there, you can rely on The Firebeats to make your event a night to remember.
All events are different and flexibility in budget and scale are key. From small-scale, intimate parties, to full size festivals and theatre events, The Firebeats have a performance to suit all scale and budgets. Contact us HERE>> to discuss your personalised needs.
As a rough guide, the band would need a minimum stage/performance area of 3m x 4m but we always work with the venue to ensure we fit with their needs and to ensure there is a slick set-up and strip-down process. Where later finishes or long distances are involved, there may be additional accommodation, subsistence and travel costs, these will be revealed in advance, prior to any booking. The price quoted will always be final, subject of course to additional client requirements.
You will receive a full inventory and invoice. Copies of any certificates and documents will be provided.
So, you've read this far, which probably means that you're interested and want to chat. Please do! For an initial discussion, this is the direct number of our booking agents, Ted & Rog: 07517 222300. Give them a call. They're lovely chaps, very accommodating and friendly. That's why we use them!
Finally, we look forward to playing for you and remember: Music is life; that's why our hearts have beats!
FEES AND LINE-UP OPTIONS
As you might expect, a lot depends on the actual event and the needs of the client but, as a rough guide subject to availability, the base price for local events is £800. This doesn't change just because it's a wedding or corporate event. We always commit to fair, up front pricing - something of a unique approach that respects both the band and client.
This will cover the 5 piece, male and female vocal fronted band for two 45 minute sets, plus any encores with full PA and band lighting with intermediate music provided.
An acoustic performance prior to the main event, perhaps over guest arrivals, drinks, after a wedding service or during a meal can help get people into the mood and will add around £400.
Other options can include brass and woodwind instruments (add about £200 for each), a full DJ set (about £200), sound and lighting engineer where needed or recommended (around £200), full dance-floor lighting (around £100), outdoor marquee/covered stage and PA system with full sound engineering (around £1000).
The band are very self-sufficient and work with venue staff to maximise a slick operation in the minimum amount of time. Their transport needs are fully supported by Roper's Leisure.
The band and management will always work to limit costs for charity events and smaller venues and even at a lower price, the band will still perform two approx 45 minute sets (plus any encores!).

As you would probably want for yourselves, we respect confidentiality and would never reveal private details without consent.
The comments on our website are a fraction of those we receive and we've never had any negative feedback. Our facebook sites and many return clients are a testament to that.
So, whilst we have an extensive catalogue of feedback, we only pass on comments that people have explicitly agreed to or publicly expressed.
But if you want to see for yourself how we perform, drop us a line. We often see prospective clients at our public events or in rehearsals where people can come along and see how we work, have a chat and maybe see how we put new music together from client suggestions.
SECURE AND SAFE
The band also take great pride in their professional approach to people and performances. All equipment is PAT tested, full public liability insurance indemnity is in place and members of the band have been DBS/CRB approved so you can be assured of a safe and smooth event.
